This is an important question and needs an elaborate response. The best response was provided by Sri Babuji and it needs to be understood in its entirety. A guru is a 'mahatma'. The core of the mahatma's mission is sacrifice. This sacrifice is no ordinary sacrifice. It is an extraordinary act of piety and compassion and demonstrates their love for suffering humanity. It is precisely in order to serve humanity that they come out of their seclusion, forsake the state of exaltation they are engrossed, and make themselves available to guide humanity.
